Do you hear anything about leading global liquidity providers in financial products? I recently came across one called SMM Limited. It claims to have been operating for over 20 years, with a turnover of $65 billion back in 2016. Well, my duty is to prove to you it’s a scam. I’ll provide all the evidence in this review.

Registration and Client Portal Review

According to their website, SMM Limited started operating in 1994. Well, tell me, can’t they have created a decent website all that time? Because this one is a monstrosity. The menu only has a few tabs, there’s almost no information about the company, and the trading conditions are barely described. That’s all there is here. The design also appears to be simply missing. A black-and-white website with just a small logo in the corner — that’s all the distinguishing features it has. Not much, is it?

SMM Limited - website

Legal information is also somehow lost. Well, at least there’s a brief company history. However, I suspect this is more like a tale rather than something that reflects reality. I’ll investigate everything.

Registering was quite difficult. Rather, at first glance, the form seemed very simple. In theory, all you need to do is fill out a short form. Enter your details, contact information, and address. Also choose a secret question and answer. When you complete the registration process, nothing happens. You’re asked to log in, and when you enter your information, the form shows an error message “wrong credentials”. Well, I expected that it wouldn’t be so easy. And now I’m thinking that this website might have been hastily made, and some of the tabs here just don’t work properly.

Register

Thus, I was unable to access the client portal. Therefore, I will attempt to conduct further research without it.

SMM Limited Trading Conditions

I can’t wait to check out what exclusive trading conditions this broker has been developing for 20 years. There must be something exceptional here.

Account Types Review

And here it is, I was right. The broker has six types of accounts. They are divided into two types: standard and advanced. The first category includes Basic, Trader, and Silver accounts. The first account needs to be funded with just $250. Traders will receive three educational sessions with an analyst, as well as access to 100+ trading assets.

The Trader account, on the other hand, requires a deposit of $5,000. With this, you’ll get access to 3 VIP signals and one fast withdrawal without commission. Finally, the Silver account requires a deposit of $15,000. The number of fast and free withdrawals will increase to 5, and VIP signals will also increase to 5.

The advanced accounts offer roughly the same thing, just with an increased number of all these free withdrawals and VIP signals. The only exception is the Diamond account. Here, clients will receive increased leverage and even the services of a financial advisor. However, there is no information about the leverage and spread sizes.

Trading Platform

I can immediately note that there is no demo account here. There is also no information whatsoever about the trading platform. Not a single word is mentioned about it. I can’t even see what’s actually in the client portal. Overall, this is not a normal practice for reputable brokers. If you have nothing to hide, why keep such secrecy around the trading platform?

In well-known marketplaces, there are no platforms listed under the name SMM Limited at all. So the only thing I can conclude is that the broker provides a web trader only. No downloadable desktop or mobile apps.

Deposit and Withdrawal of Funds

It’s difficult to say how you can fund your account here. Even the logos of payment systems are not listed on the official website. So, it is impossible to conclusively determine what you can use. Various withdrawal and refund policies indicate that you can receive funds to credit cards and other payment systems. What payment systems? Of course, it’s a mystery. However, considering that the company focuses on cryptocurrencies, it can be assumed that digital assets are also accepted here. However, when it comes to withdrawing money, it’s a puzzle again. There is no information about the size of fees or how long your requests will be processed. In this matter, the company also maintains complete anonymity.

Verification

Moving on, things become even more interesting. We found in the documents that SMM Limited may have a verification process. The company reserves at least the right to check your identity. There is no information on how they will do this. They simply say that you can find all the details in their Privacy Policy, but such a document isn’t on their website.

So, there’s another oversight here. If you want to go through the verification process, you’ll need to provide copies of your identification and address documents. I also can’t say how long the process will take. This information isn’t published anywhere, and of course, they may need other data from you, such as proof of income or other details.

Additional Options

I have already briefly mentioned some additional services. In particular, SMM Limited pays a lot of attention to things like analytics and trading signals, as well as education. Regarding the latter, it’s quite amusing. For some reason, a lot of educational features are promised here to investors with account types above Silver. Why they need any additional educational facilities is a big question. Regarding analytics and daily signals, I would not recommend paying any attention to them at all. Because there is absolutely no information about their analysts and employees in general. How can you trust anonymous individuals in any way?

Is SMM Limited a Scam?

I have almost no doubts left that this broker is a real scam. Well, let’s move on to the most revealing part of this review.

Just like the company practically says nothing about its activities, it also provides no information about its legitimacy. I couldn’t find any data on where this firm is registered and what license it has obtained.

One document mentions that clients will use this site according to the laws of Bulgaria. However, there is no SMM Limited in this register. Actually, just based on this fact alone, I can conclude that it hasn’t obtained any license at all, because straight regulation is a mandatory requirement for all reputable brokers. So, I conclude that SMM Limited is simply an anonymous website that has no right to provide brokerage services.

Smm-limited.co Domain Info

Their statement really amused me. Right on the homepage, they claim to have been providing cryptocurrency services for 20 years. Hold my calculator, let’s count. So, the first Bitcoin block was generated in 2009. That’s 15 years ago. Crypto wasn’t traded anywhere for a long time. The cryptocurrency market, in the broad sense of the term, emerged even later. I wonder how the creators of SMM Limited even passed their math classes at school?

Domain info

The answer is — very poorly. The Whois domain verification service shows that their official website was created on January 24, 2024. As you can see, two months is definitely not 20 years.

Contacts Review

Another big problem is contacts. They simply don’t exist. The broker didn’t provide a phone number, email, or office address. Who knows, maybe there will be some kind of online chat in the Client Portal. However, all of this doesn’t look very good. It feels like the broker doesn’t give clients any chance to contact them without their prior approval.

More Details

Finally, I must add that this project operates on an obvious boiler room model. As a broker without registration and a license, it clearly doesn’t have access to any interbank market or exchange. So, all your trades will be executed exclusively within this platform. Therefore, there is a conflict of interest here, and SMM Limited will simply not benefit if you make any profit.

Pros and Cons

  • Low minimum deposit.
  • No official registration.
  • No license.
  • Implausible backstory.
  • Very short operating period.
  • Unfavorable trading conditions.

SMM Limited Summary

SMM Limited - favi

So, this is clearly not a great option for starting your trading journey. The company is clearly fake. What's worse, it didn't even bother to create a somewhat believable image. So, it's better not to transfer your money here. They are unlikely to be focused on long-term operations.

    Scam, obviously

I’ve looked into this brokerage company. I’ll say right away – don’t trust scammers. Not only are the conditions bad and inadequate here, but there are also no guarantees of reliability whatsoever. No proper regulation, no security guarantees, no documents. Also, unclear trading conditions – what are the commissions? I don’t know why you take a risk when you can cooperate with companies that are completely open to clients. So, I have a negative opinion and review. And I fully agree with other similar statements about this fake platform. We need to spread the truth about such scams as much as possible so that people don’t give their money to scammers.
